With all the money … With all the money being pumped into Dublin, you would think that any proper transport system would work. But this is Dublin , where 5 billion actually means 25 billion. You should try and live in Cork, Where no money is being spent, we get all the buses and all rail networks. I ‘m sorry , they recently opened the Midleton Line. 1 train every hour leaves Midleton for Cork, and that if it leaves at all.
in fairness I have … in fairness I have to say now the M50 is very good and there are still some exits to finish.
If they ever deliver the metro lines and extend the luas so everything is connected we’ll have an acceptable transport system
I used to live in … I used to live in Dublin and I’ve visited Sydney multiple times for longer periods of time. While Sydney definitely does not have the best public transport it’s far superior to the Dublin one. For one, it actually goes places. The two Luas lines in Dublin do not connect! The Dart only runs along the seaside. There is NO rail to the airport. The bus lines are shaped in a star, forcing one to always pass through the center. There is a reason why there are about 24k taxis in the City!
clever and amusing! … clever and amusing! bikes are best. And trains too. Our heritage is being destroyed so commuters can get from navan to dublin by motorway and save 10 mins travelling but not Tara.
Solutions are … Solutions are simple – fire virtually everyone with any power in the country and start again. No? That won’t work? Then whine. It will eventually turn into a roar.
Ummm… the … Ummm… the problems we face in the city nowadays are due to the fact that the Government of the 40′s 50′s and 60′s decided that cars were the only way forward, so they ripped up all the tram tracks and neglected to start work on a metro system, a rail system that would transport people between the two, non-connecting rail lines in the city, and a bus service that actually works.
Theres been some progress mate, but as the vid says, we’re not there yet… Where did Michael Moore come into this?
